The Planet is Fine, The People are F**ked!™

Over the past couple of years, natural disasters have been happening a little more often than it used to. Even a place like Malaysia, a place where is deemed to be free from major natural disasters as depicted in the Geography syllabus was doomed with the Tsunami back in 2004. Most Malaysians were so ignorant of the consequences of earthquakes and volcano eruption that we didn’t even know what a Tsunami looked like. It was a shocker to see the footage of what had really happened in the news later. Could this all be related to the global warming activities that are happening? Is our planet really sick?

We humans are now actively involved in saving the planet; i.e. promoting everything there is to know about global warming, recycling, saving the Earth, being mother nature ourselves. But really, are we qualified to even talk about stuff as big as saving the Earth when we can’t even learn the meaning of respecting others? When we are struggling to take care of ourselves and the people we love, how is it possible for us to take care of our planet?

The people today are more selfish than ever. Whatever happened to being trustworthy and helpful and caring for one another — I really don’t know. For the sake of surviving in this society, we are more cautious than ever but some of us are just using the wrong method of being cautious so to speak. Hence, a society filled with sick people.

I wonder if we’ll ever learn to save ourselves before saving the planet. You know, if we learn to make this society a better place to be in, probably the planet won’t be seen as a sick place.

  • hehehe this statement has been going around for some time now :)

it is true that most of the issues happening to this planet are caused by us the inhabitants of the planet. like the movie ‘the day the earth stood still’, keanu reeves potrayed the alien who is here to wipe out the human race with an exponentially expanding cloud filled with nanobots (shit..there i go again relating real life with movies), us humans only change at the precipice, which is NOW. with the ever expanding awareness, it is just a matter of time before we turn this calamity around. so we should do our part and as bloggers, spread the word through our blog networks

    :)

    p/s – paragraph 2…typo…plant is missing an ‘e’ :P

  • yup it has.

well, we can — if this blog reaches out to ppl. :)

p/s: thanks. just changed it. ;)

  • Well, we have to start somewhere and take steps to at least slow the pace of planet-decay at the same time reverse human-decay. Not sure if I’m making sense. Oh well..

  • yes, you are making sense happysurfer. i feel in most ways, if we humans portray the right type of behavior, the planet should be fine, right? i guess most of the time, the humans are thinking in the context of “what do i get out of this” which leads to unnecessary stress to the planet.. no? now it’s me to feel if i’m making sense or not! hahaha!
