can’t wait!

The past 2 weeks have been interesting. It has been an eye opening experience for some reason. It has made me realize a lot of things about humans and the environment around us. Hence, it is all good.

Amongst some of the things that have happened over the past 2 weeks:

  1. I had a feel of what good network can do for you. Pays to talk more sometimes.
  2. I realize that with certain people, you can click almost instantly. The feeling – AWESOME.
  3. Be different, be bold. It will pay off, somehow.
  4. Sometimes, it is not about the things you do. Sometimes, it is simply about YOU.
  5. Driving in San Francisco is a pain. It is the same type of pain I felt when driving in LA. Nonetheless, driving down that Lombard Road, the only crazy winding street in a city, was pretty cool.
  6. Dungeness crab rawks!
  7. Tree to Tree rawks too! Minus the bruises that is.
  8. After many years of being with my company, I learned of some pretty cool things about it.

Experience is everything. It makes me know the behavior of certain people and the environment around me, but more importantly, it makes me learn more about ME. Ultimately, that’s most important right?

Can’t wait to get on that plane tomorrow.

*woot*

an evening

Sometimes it’s not so much about the food, but it’s the company that matters. And yes, it matters a lot to me. It’s interesting how you can click with some people but with others, no matter how long you try to work for the click to happen, it doesn’t.

*shrug*

I know. This post is so random.

Anyway, though I’m enjoying the weather here, I’m ready to go home. With my plates. To you-know-who. ;)

Apple the Awesome

I’ve always been an Apple fan. Not as crazy as those fanboys, but enough to say that I love Apple. The experience I had today just put my love for Apple up a notch. I think they even made me wanna buy something out of the store!!

The battery of my MacBook has swollen to a state where it is not usable anymore. I was even afraid that it may explode one day! Hence, I had to use my MacBook like a normal PC, without my battery. I went to the local Apple resellers in Penang to ask if a replacement is possible. The answer is no, simply because the warranty period is over and there’s really nothing that I can do about it except to purchase a new battery, which by the way cost a whopping RM560 (or something like that).

I didn’t want to spend that much money on the battery since my MacBook is going into its 4th year. What’s the point right?

When I came to the US, I brought my MacBook along, with the swollen battery. I went to the Apple Store at Washington Square hoping to get the battery at a cheaper rate. As I entered, there were tons of staffs around, assisting the overwhelming amount of customers in the store. One of the staff came up to me and say, “How may I assist you today?”. I showed him that my battery is all swell up and ask if it was going to explode. He said “Oh! It might just explode. Let me get you to the Genius Bar and have someone assist you with this problem.”. This other guy then took my name and asked me to wait for 5 mins and someone will attend to my problem.

True enough, in approximately 5 mins, a guy name Brad from the Genius Bar came up to me and asked me to go to the counter to talk about my problem. I showed him my swollen battery and in just 5 mins, he replaced the battery for me with a brand new one. I asked him how much did it cost, and he told me that it was a replacement at no cost. You hear me, NO COST. FREE. He didn’t even asked me any questions at all. I was so dumbfounded, I couldn’t move and stood at the Genius Bar and said WOW a couple of times before I left. :) And I couldn’t stop smiling. I was so happy.

The experience at the Apple Store was absolutely amazing. It was total awesomeness. It was an experience that cannot be expressed fully in words. Apple made me feel happy making a purchase of their product. Apple made me feel my purchase with them is an absolute right and worthwhile purchase. And most importantly, Apple made me want to go back and continue buying their products after mine can no longer function. Best after sales service EVER EXPERIENCED.

It was awesome. Awesome. AWESOME. Totally.

I love you Apple, more than before. ;)

yay!

After traveling for over 24 hours, throwing up several times, not eating much, not having enough sleep, experiencing flight delays, thought my luggage went missing, having them delivered at 3.45am, I’m glad I can now rest, hoping that the next few days would have less drama than the past 24 hours.

I’m hungry.

exhaustion

The past 2 weeks have been most tiring. Too many things happening at once. I was hoping time would slow down a little. To top it up, just thinking about the schedule line-up for the next 6 weeks is wearing me out.

*breathe in, breathe out*

This time round, the traveling sure is a little too long.

Oh well.

yet another porky attempt

When I say I wanted to make an English Pork Pie, I didn’t know how it would taste like, nor did I know it is served COLD. Yes, cold (just reading about the fact that I didn’t know pies can be served cold simply proves I’m Asian). In true honesty, I haven’t even heard of a pork pie. Hence, I’ve got to go read up about it if I want to make them. After searching and reading on the Internet and gathering information about the English Pork Pie from an Englishman, I manage to pull it off.

Tadaaa!

This is my first time eating a savory pie served cold. I must say, I was surprised that it’s nice! It’s even better if you eat them with some Ploughman’s Pickles. I should have put more jelly pork in the pie though. I think it would have been better. Nonetheless, I thought it was good. And I have gotten thumbs up from the people I served it to. So, for now it’s all good.

;)

p/s: I’m surprised that crumpets are actually quite nice as well.
