What is wrong with Bersih?

For the past week or so, there has been tons of news featured in the papers and the internet about the Bersih rally. Reading all of these news has reiterate my thoughts about the Malaysian government; the government is made up of a bunch of idiotic morons.

*sigh*

It is sad to be honest. It is sad to know that my beloved country is led by morons. No wonder Malaysia hasn’t been going anywhere for the past decade. The comments and the actions that have been imposed by the government on the Bersih activities have created nothing but negative vibes among the citizens of Malaysia.

Seriously, can someone tell me, what is wrong with Bersih? What is wrong with wanting a fair and clean election? This has nothing to do with race or religion mind you. Nothing. It’s all about the plea from the citizens of wanting a fair and clean election. I’m not even sure if the anti-Bersih clan knows what they are going against. You don’t want no fair election you say? I didn’t know you didn’t want fairness, anti-Bersih clan. How interesting.

So what is wrong with Bersih? Oh, right! I completely forgot that if the election is clean and fair, our current government may not win! Ahhh… that sums it all up doesn’t it?

Jeez.

Arresting people dressed in yellow clothing, blocking the roads causing massive traffic jams, making Bersih rally illegal but was not seen making the anti-Bersih rally illegal, making false accusation about weapons that will be used, and the argument stated doesn’t even make the slightest sense; all these actions will only tick people off. It makes my blood boil! It’s not just because of the stupid actions and comments, but the fact that the government actually believes that such childish moves will stop the citizens from going to the rally! Are they out of their mind?

:|

Mr Prime Minister, if it is not too much for me to ask of you right now, is there a possibility for you to wake up right now? Open your eyes and see what’s going on, use your brains to evaluate the entire situation and think of a solution that make sense, before you speak to the public. Also, use that 2 ears of yours and listen. Listen to what the citizens of Malaysia has got to say before you make silly comments. And while you’re at that, train those people who work under you to do the same.

I don’t see anything wrong with Bersih. Unless if they start to threaten the safety of the country with weapons or such, let them be. By stopping all of these and making false accusations, the government is simply making matters worse. It is bad enough that we all know the election is not entirely clean, but now, that bad has become worse. The world is now looking at us. Please don’t make any stupid moves. Really.

Oh and one more thing Mr Prime Minister, we, the citizens of Malaysia are not dumb nor are we stupid or brainless. Please don’t do or say things that would make us look like idiots. Thank you.

For those proceeding to the Bersih assembly, be safe. I don’t wish for any tragic incident to come out of this to begin with.

p/s: For non registered voters, shut up. If you’re not a registered voter, don’t start by commenting that you are all for the Bersih thing. Take the first step and do your part by registering as a voter first. If you don’t register, you are simply denying your rights to vote for the future of Malaysia. So even if you rally, it wouldn’t make a difference.

Suit Up!

I love Barney Stinson and his Suit Up! phrase. He used it so often in How I Met Your Mother that I think as of today, it has truly become legendary.

To be honest, there’s nothing wrong with suiting up. Perhaps in the series, his interpretation of suiting up is to dress in suits, like how he dress up everyday for work. But suit up simply means putting on clothes that is suitable for a designated activity, be it for work, for sports, for a dinner date or for bed. There is a certain range of clothing that is suitable for each activity.

However, it is sad to know that some individuals are still very lost in the context of dressing up. To be honest, how you dress simply defines how much respect you have for yourself, as well as the activity you are attending. It will also set a first impression for new people you are about to meet. Is it important? Hell yea it is! First impressions are one of those things that you want to get it right on the first try. It actually takes a long time to shake off the first impression you have on someone. Humans shouldn’t judge you say? Well, live with the fact that all humans judge to a certain extend. Hence, making a first impression becomes very substantial.

I’m always amaze by how some people can actually put on a sloppy oversized T-shirt with a pair of super worn out pants and get to work. It’s okie to wear T-shirt sometimes, but at least make an effort to tuck in to make yourself look neat. I’ve also seen some girls who comes to work in super tight mini dresses, or super low cut revealing blouses. Come on girls, I’m sure you know that you’re here to work and not to party, right? At one point, many of the girls in one of our office in Asia were turning up to work in mini skirts and singlets to a point it got so out of hand that other people from other companies who sits in the same building said that employees from our company dress up like whores. It wasn’t a very nice description but there’s no one to blame but themselves, no?

I’m not a vain pot. Don’t get me wrong. Nonetheless, I feel it is important to dress to suit the occasion. There’s an attire that is suitable for every activity. Images are important. Hence, it is up to you to choose if you want to dress like a million bucks, or to dress like a sloppy-average-joe-I-don’t-give-a-damn-about-anything. And when you cannot even give a damn about dressing nicely, don’t expect others to give a damn about you.

So, to me, I would have to say, SUIT UP!

embrace the differences

When one of our guy friends posted this pic on FB sometime back with the title “NEW BOOK ON HOW TO UNDERSTAND WOMEN”, it got me to realize that till this very day, grown up men still think women are complicated. People got to commenting on the pic, and a guy mentioned that it will only require a page to understand men. And the comments on this topic became a full blown men vs women sort of discussion. Things like, “we men stick together and women don’t, and we men are simple and women are complicated and women gave men a headache” started to come out. I wonder why these guys ever go after the ladies to begin with. And then get married if women truly gave them such a headache. Is it all about sex? But then again, men don’t need to get married to do it in bed, right?

So shallow.

*tsk tsk tsk*

The thing is, as last as long you are a human, you are bound to be complicated. So little boys, please stop saying that you only need one page when the “NEW BOOK ON HOW TO UNDERSTAND MEN” is equally thick. Men and women are just different species. They will always be different. Live with that. Embrace it and work around it. No one gender is better or more superior than the other. Men and women have their share of pros and cons. And it is the pros and cons that made these 2 species go together. In fact, it is a beautiful unison, especially when true love is involved. :)

Men who still believe that women are complicated simply haven’t been able to let go of their ego and admit the fact that we are all humans, with our sets of good and bad. There’s no point trying to change or hope that a women will think and behave like a men. Think about it boys, would you have really prefer to date a dude?

Ultimately, we are just different. Stop complaining. Even if such a book exist, it won’t help men to understand if men are not willing to erase the belief within them that they are simple and women are complicated. Coz that, my friend, is not true. We are different because the things we want in life are different. That’s all.

Live with the differences and stop whining like a baby. Alternatively, please date a dude. ;)

oh Malaysia, are you sick?

It has come to my attention that Malaysia is getting sicker by the day. Main factor to this everlasting illness of our beloved country; our people. Sick to the very core.

It is sometimes sad to see how the insignificant development of Malaysia since I could remember. We were supposedly one of the leaders for SEA countries, but somehow or rather, we are now falling behind. In an article I read a year ago, our country was being compared to Cambodia by foreign investors. I thought we have surpassed them by a huge lot! How could it be possible that we are compared with them and not countries like Singapore or Thailand?

Having the need to read crazy news like the discrimination over boys who are more in-touch with their feminine side makes me wanna puke. The intention of setting up this boot camp for sissies is said to be trying to guide the students to proper path in life. Just because they are slightly more feminine does not mean they are going down the improper path. Why is it so difficult for certain people to simply accept that some of these boys are just born with more feminine genes? In fact, what’s wrong with being who you want to be, if that’s truly who you are? What is that person suppose to do if he or she is born gay? Kill themselves?

Really, since when did Malaysia got so low? Or have we always been that low?

And then there’s the 1 Malaysia email. I don’t see the needs of starting this project in the first place. What good is it to have a 1 Malaysia email when most of us who needs email have already had one or more emails? Besides, will news from the political world be more transparent to us, since its purpose is to provide the latest news and info to the people with this email? In addition to that, have anyone thought about the security and how big of a security issue it would become should any of the peoples’ personal information got leaked out? I mean seriously. Why is it that they can’t think of anything better to do but this. And Najib can’t see what the big fuss is all about. He’s probably blind. Private sector project? Like anyone who’s living in Malaysia will believe him. Jeez. Also, wouldn’t the RM50m be of better use if the government were to use it to improve existing infrastructures like the pathetic broadband that we have?

As I’ve mentioned before, doing things like this doesn’t make the 1 Malaysia concept work. I sometimes cannot believe the level of stupidity which the leaders of our country possess. The level can go up to infinity and beyond.

Sigh.

I wonder what’s next. I can’t wait for the next general election. I wonder what sort of monkey act will some of the politicians do.

Hello Mr Mario

How have you been Mr Mario? I haven’t seen you for awhile. I would have never expected myself to bump into you again, not in HK MTR at least. But it was great seeing you. I do think you’ve grown to be a little too skinny over these 15 years. Haven’t you had enough mushrooms in the recent years? Did you by any chance drop by at the tanning parlor? You look a little overly tanned. They may have used the wrong formula. Maybe you should sue. Nonetheless, it was great seeing you. I hope you enjoy your stay in HK. Till we meet again.

is it very wrong to be wrong?

I think there are a lot of people among us who do not understand the very fact that humans are not perfect; they make mistakes. To top that up, a lot of people do not understand that this very fact applies to themselves as well. We are humans, we make mistakes.

Almost everyday at work, I hear people trying so hard to defend themselves, creating stories that even a 5-year-old would know that it doesn’t make any logical sense, just to cover their mistakes, a.k.a. their asses. The thing is, people fail to understand that covering mistakes will not make you learn anything. Problems will not go away is you simply sweep them under the carpet. They are there. And they will come back and haunt you.

But then again, one actually need bigger guts to own up to mistakes as compared to lying and creating stories to cover it up. I think only cowards will lie, coz they can’t even admit to the wrong-doings that they did themselves. Will they excel? I think not. I believe in owning up, learning from the mistake, and moving on. No one is perfect. It’s only normal to get some scolding and beating up, but ultimately, it is the lesson that matters most. Suck it up and move on.

Well, it’s a whole other story if a person do not learn from their mistakes and continuously repeat the wrong-doings.

If only people are braver these days. Oh well.

it is okay

toremember

I was looking at tumblr just yesterday when I stumble upon this poster quote. True, huh?

I believe that it is okay to make mistakes sometimes. No one human in the face of this Earth is perfect. Everyone makes mistakes. The more important part to making this mistake is learning from it and move on. Besides, sometimes the things that we think is wrong, may not be all that wrong after all. It could just be someone’s view from a different perspective.

Fear will only hold us down and lead us to achieving none. Guess we’ve just got to fight that fear, huh?

Have a good Tuesday.

i don’t know, i don’t know, i don’t know

I don’t really understand when someone answers ‘I don’t know’ to a question that’s asked in regards to their actions or doings of a certain matter. I mean, you clearly choose to take the particular action, hence technically speaking, you should know. Answering ‘I don’t know’ doesn’t really seem to make sense. I mean, you did it… didn’t you? Or at least, you choose to take that action, right? So how can you not know?

‘I don’t know’ is also used sparingly by people who somehow refuses to find answers to certain questions. Lazy is what I call these people. Of coz I’m not going to discount the fact that we as humans don’t know everything. It is okay to answer ‘I don’t know’ but not to overuse it to an extend that it makes someone else feels that you’re not putting any effort to finding out the answer.

I feel that sometimes, we humans prefer to choose the easy way out of certain matters, like avoiding to answer a question directed to us. So, ‘I don’t know’ are usually chosen as the answer, simply because if a person says ‘I don’t know’, there’s really no other question one can ask subsequent to that answer. Looks like an easy way out to me.

*shrug*

I don’t know. Maybe it’s just me.
