The Moment of Truth

This is a new American game show currently aired on Star World every Wednesday, 10pm (and yes, I’m in Sheraton Suzhou right now and they have Star World! YAY!). To be honest, I find this game show pretty disturbing. This game show would have the contestant strapped to a polygraph prior to the game show where 50 questions are asked. Without knowing the answer to the polygraph, the contestant is then asked 21 questions from that pool of 50 questions during the show itself. As the contestant moves up a notch, the question asked gets more personal.

Of coz money is involved. Ultimately, the contestant who tells the truth would get USD500,000. But if you really do watch the game, it’s… disturbing. I mean these are really personal questions. For instance, “Have you slept with anyone else after you are married?” or “Do you think your in laws are better parents to you than your own parents?”. Mind you that these questions are asked with your parents, your husband and some of your family members sitting right in front of you. The people you love and who loves you. How far would you go for money? I mean answering these questions might hurt the people who have loved you.

This makes me wonder about the things people would do for money. It disturbs me so much that I can only watch this gameshow once (and that one time, I didn’t even finish watching the whole episode). And that’s pretty much it. I wouldn’t do it, that’s for sure. Even if it’s for USD1million. I think to me, my r’ship with my husband and my family is worth more important than USD1million. I would not risk my marriage, or my love life or anything for that matter for that amount of money. But somehow it amazes me that some ppl are still willing to go ahead and do it.

Oh well. Again, I find this game show disturbing.

The proposal – Monica & Chandler

Well, of coz, before Phoebe and Mike wed, we have the most heartfelt and loveliest proposal ever done by 2 people! *weep*. Gosh…it’s so lovely! I totally love what Monica said… that she’s lucky to fall in love with her best friend. I think that’s the luckiest thing that can ever happen to someone.

To be in love with a person you can call a friend… He’s like this one person whom you treat as a friend, a lover boy, a husband… all at the same time. And I think, there can only be one person who would be like that. To have a man who wants to spend his life with you, telling you that he wants the rest of his life with you…is like the most beautiful thing a girl would ever want to hear.

Gosh… I’m CRYING RIGHT NOW! DANG! *sigh* Enjoy!

Phoebe and Mike weds

I was watching an episode of F.R.I.E.N.D.S today and I was getting all mushy over it. It was the episode where Phoebe got married to Mike in the street, in a simple wedding, in a snowy environment. How cool and romantic is that! And she walked down the aisle to the song Here, There, Everywhere by the Beatles.

Well, I’ve never really been a big fan of the Beatles, but this is definitely one hell of a song. Really beautifully written song. EVERYONE should listen to this song. Really. And then consider having the band sing during your wedding. ;)

Anyway, Phoebe’s wedding is absolutely lovely. I cried (as usual… like really, what’s new) coz it was just so amazingly wonderful (now at this point, “someone” would be calling me an EMO QUEEN). But yea, I’m a sucker when it comes to beautiful weddings that happened becoz 2 ppl are just crazily madly in love with each other.

Phoebe’s speech is lovely and it’s just so genuine. Same goes for Mike. Watch this clip and you’ll know what I mean. Gosh… I watched it twice and both times… I CRIED! I’m seriously a sucker.

Oh well… I think I’ve had enough crying for 2 days. Things aren’t exactly going the way I’ve wanted it to… but I’m just letting things be for now. Not like I’m giving up… but… maybe I am. Yea, as vague as this might sound, I myself am confused at the whole situation that I’m putting myself in right now. Love… *sigh*

Anyway, watch this part of the episode. :) Love it to bits. ;)

f.r.i.e.n.d.s

I love sitcoms. I have always loved tv series that can give you a good laugh. My list of sitcoms-like can be pretty long ;) – everybody loves raymond, according to jim, my wife and kids, 8 simple rules, grounded for life, hope & faith, dharma & greg, how i met your mother, a guy, a girl & a pizza place, and the list will just go on and on, and if I insist on naming all sitcoms that I like, this would made the record for the longest post in the Guinness Book of Records (okie…maybe not). But I must say, nothing beats f.r.i.e.n.d.s. :D They are absolutely hilarious. They are just the loveliest.

(Ross, Phoebe, Rachel, Joey, Monica, Chandler – f.r.i.e.n.d.s)

I think I would rate f.r.i.e.n.d.s as one of the most successful sitcom ever made. I mean, all 6 of them have created characters that will be long remembered by anyone who has watched f.r.i.e.n.d.s. In fact, I realize that when they act in other movies, they sometimes bring their characters along with them, saying phrases that was once said in one of the episodes in f.r.i.e.n.d.s. Maybe that’s them. Hmmmm…

Star World is now doing a rerun on season 9 & 10 every weekday from 8pm – 9pm, 2 episodes back to back. I came to realize today that it’s nice to watch sitcoms every now and then, especially those you enjoy, coz it would make you laugh. I was laughing my ass off today watching the episode where Emma turns 1. They are just a group of crazieeee ppl. :)

Ahhh… I believe all of us have friends who are pretty much like these 6 ppl. Come to think of it, it’s awesome if we have friends like this. ;)
