This is a new American game show currently aired on Star World every Wednesday, 10pm (and yes, I’m in Sheraton Suzhou right now and they have Star World! YAY!). To be honest, I find this game show pretty disturbing. This game show would have the contestant strapped to a polygraph prior to the game show where 50 questions are asked. Without knowing the answer to the polygraph, the contestant is then asked 21 questions from that pool of 50 questions during the show itself. As the contestant moves up a notch, the question asked gets more personal.
Of coz money is involved. Ultimately, the contestant who tells the truth would get USD500,000. But if you really do watch the game, it’s… disturbing. I mean these are really personal questions. For instance, “Have you slept with anyone else after you are married?” or “Do you think your in laws are better parents to you than your own parents?”. Mind you that these questions are asked with your parents, your husband and some of your family members sitting right in front of you. The people you love and who loves you. How far would you go for money? I mean answering these questions might hurt the people who have loved you.
This makes me wonder about the things people would do for money. It disturbs me so much that I can only watch this gameshow once (and that one time, I didn’t even finish watching the whole episode). And that’s pretty much it. I wouldn’t do it, that’s for sure. Even if it’s for USD1million. I think to me, my r’ship with my husband and my family is worth more important than USD1million. I would not risk my marriage, or my love life or anything for that matter for that amount of money. But somehow it amazes me that some ppl are still willing to go ahead and do it.
Oh well. Again, I find this game show disturbing.
